Acciente prides itself on offering systems architecture and software design services of exceptional quality, and we are always seeking talented engineers to help us achieve our mission. Our current job openings include:

Java Web Developer

About this Position

We're building the next generation of doctor-patient communication and we're seeking a talented Java Web Developer to help make it happen. Your mission is to lead the development of the web tier for the project in collaboration with an experienced systems architect. You'll also be working with a highly skilled graphic designer who will create the next-generation user interface and an XHTML "code ninja" plus others as the development team for the project grows.

Our Philosophy on Building Software

We believe that designing good software is centered on managing the "entropy" that naturally develops in a complex system. We believe that every hour invested in the design of the software saves several hours in the implementation of the software. We believe that good software and good architecture requires dedicated focus and attention, and that the results are well worth it.

Your Primary Responsibilities

- Plan the implementation of the web-tier of the application using the Induction MVC Framework
(prior experience with a Java MVC framework -- not necessarily Induction -- required)
- Wire up XHTML pages as dynamic Freemarker templates to the middle tier
- Create view bean classes and Induction controllers to implement the user interface workflow
- Ensure that all software adheres to our coding and design standards

Technologies Used on This Project

- App-tier technologies include: Java 6, J2EE 6, Glassfish, IBM DB2 Viper, iBATIS
- Web-tier technologies include: Java 6, Induction, XHTML, Freemarker, CSS, jQuery

The Ideal Candidate Has...

- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from a recognized university
- The ability to apply good software engineering practices that promote code readability and maintainability
- At least 3 years of professional experience developing Java applications
- At least 1 year of professional experience developing web-tier applications using Java
- US citizenship or permanent residency status (Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions)

A Uniquely Awesome Opportunity

This project will give you an opportunity to work with some of the key IT players in the healthcare industry and to play a significant role in the development of a major system that will be nationally deployed across hundreds of clinics. You will be working with a superb team of professionals to create a world-class system!

About Acciente

Many companies perform the service of implementing software projects requested by clients. Acciente differentiates itself by recognizing that both the hardest and most significant aspect of every software project is the architecture, and indeed we invest heavily in each project to create a world-class architecture. These investments have paid off. For one of our clients, we developed an enterprise system of over 1.3 million lines of code and nearly 300 database tables that has served as their mission-critical enterprise operations management system for over 7 years. Acciente has also developed one of the most advanced Java MVC Frameworks available today.

UX Designer

About this Position

We're building the next generation of doctor-patient communication and we're seeking an amazing User Experience Designer to make the end user's experience, simple, intuitive and uncannily satisfying. Your mission is to create the complete look & feel of the web application by working with the wireframes supplied to you by the systems analyst working in collaboration with the domain expert. You'll join a world-class development team including an XHTML developer, systems architect, and java web developer.

Our Philosophy on Creating Great User Interfaces

We believe the look & feel of the system communicates its worth and value to the customer more than any other aspect of the system. It establishes the emotional excitement level at which users will engage the application, sets the bar on the usability, and creates a "brand identity" for the entire product. All parts of the software development effort are crucial, but at the end of the day, the customer only sees the look & feel that you'll create.

Your Primary Responsibilities

- Create an overall look & feel for the web application, including a "visual vocabulary."
- Think through the use cases and design highly usable ways of empowering users to execute these use cases
- Translate the wireframes we provide you into elegant user interface designs in the form of Photoshop files
- Ensure that all photoshop files are reasoanbly "codable" by our resident XHTML "Code Ninja"

The Ideal Candidate Has...

- A Bachelor's Degree or higher from a recognized university
- At least 5 years of professional experience developing user interfaces or user experiences
- Conversational familiarity with today's core Web 2.0 technologies including XHTML, javascript, and jQuery
- US citizenship or permanent residency status (Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions)
